Why I Don’t Want To Live Up To 100-Years - Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has said he is not sure he wants to live up to a 100 years.

While delivering a sermon on the topic, ‘Longevity’ at the 60th birthday of Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder and president of Living Faith Church worldwide, a.k.a Winners Chapel, Pastor Adeboye said left to him, he would not want to be on earth for as long as 100 years because there was acrown of glory waiting for him in heaven.

According to The Nation report, Adeboye said when he was celebrating his 70th birthday and people prayed that he would live up to 80 and 90 years, he said Amen but when they said 100, he didn’t say Amen.

“I didn’t because I don’t know what offence I would have committed for God to keep me up to 100 in this sinful world when a crown of glory is awaiting me in heaven,” he said.

He however said he would not mind being 92-years-old so he will be alive to preach when Bishop Oyedepo clocks 80.

He said: “I wouldn’t mind to be 92 though, so that I will be alive to preach when Bishop Oyedepo is 80. But to live up to 100, I don’t know about that.”

Adeboye pointed out every birthday is a reminder that ‘our days are numbered’.

Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a Nigerian pastor and the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). In 1981 Adeboye was appointed General Overseer of the church, taking over from Papa Akindayomi, who had died the previous year.
