What does the man considered to be the best soccer player in the world do when a 15-year-old fan shows up uninvited in his hotel room? Well, for starters, not kick him out immediately, apparently.
According to a recent report in Globo, one of the largest newspapers in Brazil, where the 2014 FIFA World Cup is taking place, Cristiano Ronaldo recently had a surprise, unwelcome visitor.
This past Wednesday, the night before he and Team Portugal faced off against Ghana, a 15-year-old Brazilian boy evaded security and reached his hotel room—through the balcony, no less, said the outlet. The 29-year-old Team Portugal captain, world player of the year, has not commented on the report.
Globo quoted the teen as saying he lay in Ronaldo's bed and that when the soccer star arrived, he was nice to him, telling him that while he would not call security, he had better leave.
According to the outlet, the soccer star posed for a photo, signed an autograph and helped the boy find the proper exit out of the hotel. A grainy photo of a man who resembles Ronaldo standing on a balcony and looking at the camera was posted on Globo's website.
Portugal beat Ghana 2-1 on Thursday, while both teams were eliminated from the World Cup. The championship's knockout matches begin on Saturday, June 28.
